Manure, Hay & Bedding Pitch Forks

A pitch fork is just a must have tool to keep around ranches, farms, and small homesteads  requiring the moving of any material mixed with straw, hay or weeds.  This tool works great in turning a compost pile or picking up and moving small stick branches, other similar debris and mulch.

 A good quality pitch fork will last for years and makes fast work in cleaning out manure, and or loose hay from the barn, or horse trailer.  A traditional scoop shovel just will not push into medium with straw or hay mixed in with it.  The shovel will scoop under a pile on a concrete floor, but if the stack is deep it will be too heavy to lift and move.  A pitch fork will poke into between the straw to allow a full scoop to be picked up and pitched into a vessel for removal. 

If you have ever had a cheap pitch fork you can appreciate how quickly it can become a frustrating job to use. The cheaper imported pitch forks have one common rod that is pressed into metal ferrule wedged on the end of the handle; this can quickly become loose at the handle and once it’s loose there is nothing to prevent the head from pivoting to either side and dumping a load before it can be moved.  A loose head also becomes a potential dangerous missile to people and animals standing around when the medium is pitched forward into a vessel and the head flies off the handle.  

Our American made pitch forks utilize an exclusive steel plug, which is then riveted through the handle, to keep it secure for years of use. Other imports will use a wooden handle with a metal ferrule tip holding the head.  The chances are fairly certain that at some time the fork will become exposed to the elements become wet and the metal tip loosens, also creating the potential for the head to fly off when the fork is being used.

Our pitch forks are made with a 54” long powder-coated aluminum handle. 

Some import forks will be made of light weight steel that can quickly bend out of shape.  Our forks are made from tempered, welded steel tines.

We offer three different sizes, the price starts with the 4 Tine and then  incremental adds to the price for the selection below of either the 5 Tine or 10 Tine.  The 4 and 5 Tine are the most commonly used pitch fork for removal of heavy medium such as manure.  The 10 Tine works best on dry light weight medium such as dry straw and mulch.  All Forks come with a 54” long handle.
