Lye soap was also used for general household cleaning, and laundry.
Use it before hunting to remove body scent, remove other oils and scents from hunting gear, hats, dogs, and dog leashes.
Use it to wash hands after field dressing that big buck or cleaning fish, lye soap not only removes the oils but helps to disinfect the minor cuts and Knicks along the way.
