Winchester Model 70 Rifle Stock

Example American Walnut or Deluxe Cherry rifle stock made for Winchester Model 70 Post 1964 Long Action Rifle. Rifle stock copied from Original Winchester OEM Long action pattern. Rifle stock has right hand cheek piece. Machine inlet and will require fit and finish.

The picture is an example of the item wiped down with mineral spirits to show the wood grain. It has not been finished. All replacement stocks and forends are sent unfinished without checkering. Wood grain pattern will vary on each item from what is pictured as Standard Grade Walnut.

Please Read Before Purchasing: Stocks and forends are not ready to just attach and go. Stocks and forends are generally purchased by accomplished wood workers, gunsmiths, and others who have the knowledge and tools to complete additional inletting and safely fit to a receiver and barrel.

Gun manufactures often used the same basic stock on different styles making slight modifications for many different models and or the year a model was manufactured.

These may have included such things as a recessed plate in the pistol grip or butt stock, a fancy trigger inset, a slight modification to the receiver or barrel, or a right or left hand bolt model. A forend may have been modified for a shell ejector or other accessory.

In this case a generic basic stock or forend is also reproduced to fit many different models. Additional inlet work may still need to be completed during the actual fitting process to match the specific year, model and or modification.

Stocks and forends are sold unfinished without checkering. Inlets are cut over tolerances, meaning they will likely need to be filed down and sanded to hand fit to the receiver and gun barrel.

While many simple stocks and forends will just need a light sanding before finish, some stocks and forends with very fine detail work in areas such as the pistol grip or around a cheek bump out may require additional hand detail and deep sanding work before the final fitting and finish process can even begin.

Small screw holes for mounting hardware and trigger guards will need to be drilled during the fitting process.

Replacement stocks and forends have become in very high demand within the past couple of years overwhelming stock makers; we are dealing with the very same issue.

Generally a common replacement stock and forend can be shipped within two weeks.

If they are out of stock it may take up to three or four weeks to ship.

Custom cut or duplicator stocks may take up to 90 days before shipping.
