Sorry, this product is currently unavailable as the shop is redesigning the gear assembly to work the top port. They have many other projects ahead of it and will not give any anticipated time frame for 2017. Please check back later.

For our customers who still prefer a Kitchen Aid mixer and still want to be off-grid, your wait is over!

This Amish machine shop converts the Kitchen Aid 5-Quart mixer to a hand crank mixer for off-grid use.
It functions just like the electric mixer. The creative adjustable crank handle allows you to adjust the speed so you do not have to speed up cranking for whipping. Simply loosen the black set screw on the end of the crank and adjust the

This has also become a popular mixer for Dutch oven cook-off teams as well as restaurants using it at table side to whip up desserts and making ice cream.

Please note: In the conversion and gearing configuration for the hand crank the docking port for the added Kitchen Aid attachments is no longer a working feature on this mixer.

Yes, this is disappointing if you have all the attachments. If you just use it for making bread, whipping egg whites or using the flat beater for cookies, this mixer may be a good off-grid alternative.
Just like The Little Dutch Maid this converted Kitchen Aid cranks smooth. You can tell the gearing is heavier duty than the original electric motor.
The Kitchen Aid is available only in white; it comes with the flat beater, wire whip, dough hook, 5qt stainless mixing bowl and plastic splash guard. All the attachments are new or refurbished to just like new.
Due to the arrangement and conversion, Kitchen Aid manufacturer original warranty no longer applies. The converted model will hold a one-year free repair or replacement warranty.  After one year, our Amish shop will repair at cost for parts, labor, and shipping.
Warranty is subject to inspection for abnormal use or abuse of the machine or dropping it.
Mixers are converted in a small Amish shop. With the high demand for these mixers, it may take up to 3-6 weeks to ship. Please order early for Christmas gifts as the demand surges this time of year.
Would you like to have an existing mixer converted? Our Amish machine shop can convert both the Classic and Artisan Kitchen Aid mixer to a hand crank mixer for off-grid use. Click Here for more information.

I highly recommend
We purchased the Kitchen Aid mixer about a year ago. We use it extensively in our Dutch Oven cooking and have really enjoyed the mixer. The adjustable handle makes the mixer variable speed which is very handy for whipping cream or mixing cakes. It is a little difficult to use with the bread hook for kneading breads as it is top heavy, but with an extra set of hands to hold it in place, it works for bread too. I highly recommend this mixer for the price. Review by Steve Lovett / (Posted on 6/18/2013)
