The Maytag repair tools listed below are intended more for repair shops that will be using them over and over. Sorry, they are not returnable. Otherwise, we would, unfortunately, have those who would order and use them to make a single machine repair and then want to return them for a refund.

38518-A Gulmite Socket. Replaces the original 38518 wrenches. The nut on top works with a 3/8" wrench, socket or impact driver.
(See tip note below as this socket will not fit smaller bolt heads used on some models)
Tip: Gulmite Bolt Removal, see the picture of the Gulmite tub bolt compare of a standard 1/2" head and a #12 metric head. Most all the models used a standard 1/2" head that the Maytag Gulmite socket will fit. A few of the Maytag machines appear to have been equipped with a smaller metric head that looks the same but the Gulmite socket just turns on the head. The only solution is to use a small Dremel grinding wheel and grind a flat screwdriver slot to remove with a large wide screwdriver. May also be used to remove standard bolts if you don't want to invest in the socket.
Use Our BWS20 Tub Bolt Replacement Kit- Stainless hex head bolt kit includes the 4 x 5/16" x 3/4" bolts to replace Gulmite 15642 tub bolts, 2 x 5/16" x 1-1/4 bolts for replacements of the 14870 Center Plate Bolts, and 6 x large bonded washers.
The Amish depended on these old wringer washers as most of the United States population did in the early 1900s until newer modern spin cycle machines were developed. As manufacturing and replacement parts moved forward the Amish began to have difficulty in obtaining parts to maintain the wringer washers. So, they began manufacturing their own supply of replacement Maytag parts as they still do today. Cottage Craft Works.com takes a step back in time to help people who are still using or restoring the old vintage home and farm equipment to acquire replacement parts.
The washer parts and tools listed are the most sought-after Maytag parts. Our Amish shop can procure or make just about any part or tool that was used on the round or square tub machines. Since the Amish convert most of the machines to gas, air or DC driven motors they don’t manufacture new electric motors. They also don’t use the drain pump allowing the washer to gravity drain instead. If you should need an electric motor or water pump, we can find you a used takeoff. Just email us for the availability of any parts that we don’t list.
A $12 flat-rate shipping and handling base rate will process with each order regardless of the cost to ship the smallest part(s) sold in the US. Parts have very little markup, especially on just a small item. The flat-rate helps defray our handling and processing is the same for a bolt or a larger order.
This should cover most washer parts that will fit in flat rate USPS boxes. Should you need larger parts or multiple parts, additional shipping costs may be required.
International customers, please email us with the parts that you need, and we will calculate the shipping costs and send you a PayPal invoice in US Dollars. Duties and taxes will still be due to your country upon delivery.
If you will be ordering multiple or large parts, please checkout using the PayPal option. We will be able to send you a PayPal invoice for any additional shipping if needed.
Otherwise, we are not able to upcharge shipping to a credit card order and will need to call you. We will not know the shipping cost until the Amish shop can verify the order and the cost to ship large parts or large orders.
Tools and parts ship directly from an Amish owned business without computers, please expect some orders to take up to two-three weeks to ship. The most popular agitator spline puller is normally stocked other tools listed may need to be made.

- I have 3 Maytag Wringer Washers and needed a Gulmite tub bolt wrench part # 38518 to replace a tub gasket and the price here at Cottage Craft Works for a new Tub bolt wrench was way cheaper than the prices on Ebay and it's a new wrench not used.
