USA | Stoneware Butter Churn | 4-5 Gallon

Our authentic reproduction old fashioned stoneware butter churns are still being made in the USA just as they were in the early times. Each churn is hand turned by a master potter, hand painted and then coated with a lead-free glaze.

They are so authentic living history museums purchase them to replace broken churns used in churning demonstrations.

Churns are still functional, food-safe, lead, and cadmium free, for making butter. Add a stopper in the lid to use them as fermenting crocks and other food storage vessels. Stoneware pottery provides a natural cooling environment similar to a root cellar for root crop cool dark storage.

Personalization and hand-painting options make family heirlooms.

The standard blue stripe is usually ready to ship within 2-3 weeks. The stock is sometimes limited and may take 3-4 weeks to ship. Plain white and personalized items are custom made per order and may take 3-6 weeks to ship.
Because of the size of the plunger length, these do ship dimensional weight.
Stoneware Pottery is U.S.A made in Texas by a small family-owned and operated pottery company, which has been making quality pottery for over 22 years.  Each piece is hand turned by a master potter, hand-painted or finished and then coated with a lead-free glaze.
Because pottery is hand turned dimensions may vary slightly. Stoneware pottery may also develop small imperfections during the firing and glazing process.  All food contact surfaces are inspected for such imperfections before shipping. The outside may have imperfections that add to the character of the stoneware.
Lids on stoneware pottery are made just like the old ones and then fired. In order to fire them, some of the bottoms are left unglazed where they will sit in the kiln. This is normal so they do not stick during the process. The original lids were made the same as you can see on antique crocks and churns.

Better than expected
Arrived quick even though I had it personalized. I was a bit worried how the personalization would look, but it too was better than expected. Heavy Duty. Very pleased. Review by Dorothy / (Posted on 6/25/2016)
