More Information
Join the natural home remedy and alternative medicine craze by pressing your own tincture, fruit, plant, juices, and oil extracts.
Extract alternative medicinal tinctures and oils from a variety of herbs, plants, fruits, and vegetables to make herbal medicines, salves, wine, fruit juices, and even jellies using these versatile CCW bottles, jack tincture, fruit, and oil presses. It also makes a great cheesemaking press. Made in the USA by the Amish.
Considering time and herb cost, you can extract from 25%- 40% more valuable and potent tincture juices than using hand-squeezing or screw style presses.
A bottom-mounted bottle jack applies upward pressure to the adjustable stainless-steel plunger. The CCW press configuration offers greater versatility than fixed-plunger models, allowing you to adjust and re-adjust the press for the marc being pressed. At the top-hole setting, the plunger will zero out at the base of the basket. This press can also be used with a woodblock, as many tincture-processing videos show, but a woodblock is not required with the CCW presses.

- All 304 Stainless steel food contact surfaces
- Heavy-duty construction for home or commercial small-scale herb and oil extract labs
- Durable powder-coated steel frame (a durable baked-on finish popular for commercial equipment)

Press Basket Options
We offer two types of inner press baskets. The standard-size tincture basket has 3/16” perforations that work on tinctures and hard fruits such as chopped apples. For those who will be doing only soft fruits or would like to have the option of doing both tincture and soft fruits, we also offer a soft fruit inner press basket with smaller-sized 5/64” perforations. Soft fruits such as oranges will press the same in the standard basket, but at that pressure, the press bags tend to push through the larger perforations, making them harder to pull out of the basket and easier to tear when removing them.
Using the drop-down boxes, select standard tincture, soft fruit, or both. Selecting either will not increase the price; selecting both will add the cost of the second basket to the overall price.
New to pressing juices and extracts? For best results, chop or grind hard fruits and vegetables to extract maximum juice. For plant extracts, chop, cut, or mill the herbs and plants into small pieces, then use a menstruum (soaking agent) such as alcohol, glycerin, water, vinegar, wine, or a mixture thereof to “presoak” (also known as maceration) the herbs and plants. Place in airtight containers to produce tinctures over an extended period before pressing. This process will ensure you receive all the benefits and medicinal goodness that they can provide. The Benefits of Amish USA-made products:
Beyond their reputation for quality products, the Amish don’t subscribe to planned obsolescence or prioritize corporate profits. They make high-quality, functional products using the very best non-toxic materials, anticipating that they will be used for generations by the Amish and other families.
Both press models are equipped with highly rated Strongway brand bottle jacks, built in ISO-certified facilities, and tested for reliability and safety to meet ASME PALD 2009 standards. They are coated with lead-free paint. These jacks have proven superior to other bottle jacks. The bottom-mount configuration will never allow hydraulic fluid to leak into the tincture, unlike some other topside-mounted tincture press configurations on the market. This is a key factor in choosing a tincture press, as automobile-style bottle jacks were never designed or tested for use over food-grade processing.
Each press comes with two .017 100% cotton washable pressing filter bags and two clear PVC NSF approved ½” I.D. hoses for beverage and drinking water systems. For replacement tubing https://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/131/149/5231K371 1/2"x 5/8" x 1/16" 25 psi @ 72° F FDA Compliant 5231K371. These hoses can be equipped with locally sourced plumbing tube fittings and jar stoppers (which will need to be drilled for the fittings) to feed into a glass jug, creating a closed system. A jar with a tight-fitting lid may also be drilled to allow the PVC hose to fit snugly into the top. Replacement hose can also be purchased at local hardware stores. You may order more 12” x 16” pressing filter bags using the drop-down boxes. Bags open to about 7-1/2” diameter, and the 16” height fits perfectly into the press. You will likely be able to find pressing bags at a much lower cost than we can offer, as the Amish shop cannot obtain them any cheaper.
Pressing times vary based on the type of material or tincture being pressed. Some tinctures require significant time and care to produce, so pausing to allow the tincture to flow should be the focus rather than speed. As a rule of thumb, 10-15 minutes is an average time. To get every drop, you will want to repack and press again some of the more expensive or most coveted tinctures. When complete, your marc should be dry and firm like a formed puck.
Larger and custom sizes are available. Please email us with your needs.
Low-rate shipping to the continental US. Canadian customers email us their address and the press size for UPS Standard shipping rates. International customers will need to use a freight forwarding company like Bonvu.com as the presses are too large to ship USPS Priority International.
